Construction begins above the ancient foundations.

The first districts of Aternum emerge.

The Imperium Palace rises above the Hall of Dread.

The earliest forms of governance begin to take shape.

Aternum becomes more than a sacred site.

It becomes a city.

Historical Record​

The earliest ages of Blacksky were shaped beneath the earth.

The Chamber of Emergence, the Hall of Dread, the Archives, and the Blackguard Sanctum all originated within the ancient foundations that would one day lie beneath Aternum.

For generations, these subterranean halls served as the center of Blacksky's growth.

Yet as the Imperium expanded, the need for something greater became apparent.

The foundations beneath the earth had endured.

Now it was time to build above them.

Construction began around the ancient sites that had given birth to Blacksky. Stone foundations rose where once there had been only open ground. Roads connected growing structures. Public spaces emerged alongside places of governance and service.

At the center of this expansion stood the Imperial Core.

The Imperium Palace was constructed above the Hall of Dread, symbolically linking the authority of the Imperium to the foundations from which it originated.

The earliest governing institutions also began to take shape during this age. While many would continue to evolve in the centuries that followed, their roots can be traced to the first efforts to organize a growing civilization around law, leadership, and continuity.

Most importantly, this age marked the emergence of Aternum itself.

No longer merely a collection of halls and foundations, Blacksky now possessed a capital.

A place from which its authority could radiate outward.

A place capable of growing beyond the boundaries of its origins.

For the first time, the Imperium possessed a city worthy of its ambitions.

Legacy​

Age V transformed Blacksky from a civilization centered upon ancient foundations into one centered upon a capital.

The Imperial Core became the heart of Aternum.

The Hall of Dread remained beneath it.

And from this point forward, the history of Blacksky and the history of Aternum became inseparable.

The city had been born.
